But despite a mostly craven personality, he has the potential to be a capable leader; if shown respect, he can even become genial and treat others well (he just rarely does things to earn being treated that way). Being around Megatron actually seems to bring out the worst in him (or at least, does the worst things to him), though conversely he also respects the Warlord's orders.
He's shown to be an agile fighter, both in the air and on the ground. He's also a drama queen, a science nerd, and a surprisingly resilient and scrappy survivor when it comes right down to it.

Character Name: Starscream
Canon Name: Transformers Prime
Canon Point: ~300 years after Predacons Rising
OC, AU, or CRAU Info: TFP x Star Wars AU
- AU begins directly following Predacons Rising movie (is canon compliant through the entire TFP series) and during the First Order era of Star Wars; it also includes some background elements/events/characters of the IDW2005 universe.
- Cybertron is being governed under a Parliament comprised of mecha from Autobot, Decepticon and Neutral members. It has regained provisional status with the Galactic Council on a trial basis; Starscream has been assigned as Cybertron's primary liaison (see AU notes below)
- A freshly reignited Hot Spot with a small number of new protoforms was discovered in the Stanix region, but the barely-recovered planet does not yet have the resources to provide them with the nutrient minerals required for healthy growth. Through scientific study, kyberite/kyber crystals were determined to be a viable substitute.
- Starscream is sent to negotiate with the First Order's Galactic Council representative: Jane Solo, an advanced pilot and secretly the sister of the Supreme Leader, for access to the kyber resources on Ilum.
- Instead of bargaining on behalf of the First Order, Jane offers an alternative: she will supply the Cybertronians with a secret location to mine kyber away from the First Order's knowledge, in exchange for an "apprenticeship" with the Cybertronians, to learn about them and their culture... and perhaps gain some allies when she eventually plans to betray the Supreme Leader.
- With the kyberite used to seed the Hot Spot, it develops 11 healthy newsparks... with the unintended side effect of them becoming Force-sensitive, and to whom Jane becomes extremely attached.

NOTABLE AU DEVELOPMENTS
- PERSONALITY:
- Even the few centuries since the end of the war and Megatron's disappearance have helped reign in some of the more bombastic elements of Starscream's personality. Overall he appears colder and much more reserved, and incredibly suspicious of everyone's intentions.
- His military origins lend some more prominent traits to his day to day interactions now. He is more likely to default to formality, especially around those he is unfamiliar with.
- He hasn't completely lost his disdain for organic races, but he's gotten better at covering it... and also he may have found a select few he doesn't mind quite as much.
- Starscream generally goes by his Air Commander rank as a title, unless it's someone specifically Vos-related, in which case he'll also use the Winglord title. Only when the situation requires it will be use his Galactic Council Representative title.
- PHYSICAL:
- Until recently Starscream has been unbadged, the Decepticon emblem long since removed. However he's started wearing his own personal insignia from his world. It is a combination of the "Air Commander" military rank emblem (stacked chevrons) and the traditional Vosian Winglord's seal, merged into a single sigil.
- Starscream's alt mode has been altered and now incorporates elements of the Earth F-16 Fighting Falcon and also his natural Cybertronian jet form. There are some visible changes in his root mode, although for the most part he looks similar to his appearance at the end of TFP. He later went behind the Parliament's back to get Knock Out to modify his alt mode to support deep space flight.
- WEAPONRY:
- Starscream is armed with his null ray guns inside his arms, and of course he's very skilled with his talons.
- He also has two shock disruptor cores embedded under his plating in his hands, these are capable of triggering a fatal spark disruption in another mech, however they are single use and must be surgically replaced.
- He has a plasmic dagger in his subspace, and he knows how to use a sword (not with him presently), but it has been some time since he's done so and it was never his primary weapon.
- Following the end of Predacons Rising and the attack by Predaking, Starscream is found barely alive by the Autobots. He is placed into a series of medical stasis following surgeries to repair his frame. During this time, he also survives an assassination attempt.
- Once he is sufficiently recuperated, he is transferred to the Iacon Correctional Facility where other Decepticons were being held while the newly forming Parliament figured out how to run the planet, and survives a second assassination attempt.
- The Parliament is officially formed of 25 core members, comprised of Autobots, Decepticons and Neutrals. Additional members are brought on for specialized areas of interest, such as the Consuls representing the colony worlds.
- The Parliament introduces the Repatriation Accords, which impose certain sanctions and censures on mechs who have documented war crimes as they return to Cybertron and begin integrating back into the new society. Censures generally include community service, restriction from certain types of sensitive jobs or data, and limitations on what sort of weapons can be carried. While some Autobots do receive them, harsher penalties do skew heavier toward former Decepticons.
- Starscream's censures include being barred for life from holding any political office (although they do make an exception for the Vosian Winglord position, as he successfully argues that it is a cultural rank, not political) and having his built-in weaponry (null rays) disabled.
- Only after several years do the Autobots acknowledge that Soundwave has been left in the Shadowzone and endeavour to retrieve him. He and Laserbeak are found nearly dead, brought back and spend years in a coma.
- After nearly a decade in prison with extremely limited airtime, Starscream's flight instincts are near breaking point. At Knock Out's urging (as in, "if you don't do this, you'll kill him") they allow Starscream to be transferred to "house arrest", where he has a geolocator chip implanted in him and must be accompanied by a sentry when in public spaces. His flight capabilities are still restricted, but less heavily, and he is forbidden from reformatting his frame.
- Over the next 200+ years, he watches as Iacon develops into a budding new society, making his own plans to leverage himself back into a position of influence. He is challenged for the Winglord position by four contenders, but he triumphs against all of them. He also is nearly assassinated again while out in the public markets, this attempt coming the closest yet to succeeding since he cannot access his null rays. During his subsequent recovery, Knock Out secretly implants a shock disruptor core in each of his hands so he can defend himself in the future.
- A Hot Spot is discovered in Stanix, containing 11 spark signatures. The news is widely heralded across all of Cybertron, to the great joy of everyone. These are the first newsparks produced by the Well since Cybertron's reactivation over two centuries prior, proving that the planet can still generate new life.
- The Hot Spot is closely monitored, but testing reveals that the still-recovering planet is not producing enough of critical mineral nutrients for the protoforms to develop healthily. Most critical of these in low supply is tutonium. However it is discovered that kyberite is similar in mineral composition and the kyber crystals it forms have an optimum concentration of its properties.
- Since the First Order is in control of the systems and any known stockpiles of kyber, the Parliament approaches the Galactic Council for mediation in setting up an exchange. Although the Galactic Council had previously blacklisted Cybertron due to the war, they realize that the Cybertronians owing them the debt of allowing them back in is a better position, especially given how long-lived they are. So they reinstate Cybertron's access to the Council on a "provisional" status.
- After realizing that the Parliament's first choices for a negotiator are woefully underequipped to deal with the First Order's level of politics, they reluctantly approach Starscream for the task. His counter demands are to be reinstated to the Air Commander position in charge of the Reformed Aerial Defense Corps, to have his built-in weaponry unlocked, and to have the geolocator chip removed — essentially, an end to his "house arrest". As the Hot Spot seeding is time sensitive, the Parliament grudgingly agrees to the terms.
